Parens International provides an array of comprehensive surrogacy packages encompassing organizational, medical, and legal services. Among these programs is surrogacy with donor eggs, also known as gestational surrogacy, where a surrogate mother carries a baby without a genetic link to her.
However, it’s essential to note that Ukrainian regulations, outlined in the Ministry of Health Order No. 787 dated September 9, 2013, restrict the use of both donor eggs and donor sperm in the same surrogacy program. This restriction is in place to ensure that the transferred embryo maintains a genetic connection to at least one parent, as mandated by Ukrainian law.
To qualify for surrogacy with donor eggs, intended parents must meet certain criteria, including:
- being officially married,
- forming a heterosexual couple, and
having medical indications for surrogacy. These indications typically arise from a medical reason why a woman cannot conceive or carry a baby.
Egg donation programs emerge as a vital solution for individuals facing challenges such as a low ovarian reserve, indicating poor egg quality that may pose potential health issues in a child. Additionally, those unable to carry a baby due to health reasons find a viable pathway to parenthood through egg donation programs.
